Two engravings of the Savoy by N. Smith in 1650 and in 1792, from ANTIQUITIES OF LONDON AND ENVIRONS by J. T. Smith, 1791. It was built originally by Peter, Duke of Savoy, burned in the Rebellion in 1381 and rebuilt as a charitable foundation and hotel.
