Tajikistan and Egypt have signed 5 partnership agreements

These agreements concern agriculture, sports and higher education.

On March 10, 5 documents on expansion of interstate cooperation were signed in the presence of President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and President of the Arab Republic of Egypt Abdul Fattah Al-Sisi in Cairo. The agreements mainly concern agriculture, sports and higher education, the press office of the President of Tajikistan reports.

The ministries of agriculture, departments for youth and sports and the ministries of education of the two countries signed memoranda of understanding. Khatlon Region of Tajikistan and Sinai Region of Egypt signed an agreement on brotherhood and friendship.

The two countries intend to enhance contacts in the field of librarianship. The national libraries of Tajikistan and Egypt signed a memorandum.

Before signing the documents, Rahmon and Al-Sisi held talks. They highlighted the importance of building up relations in the healthcare, pharmaceutical, industrial, investment and tourism sectors. Particular attention was paid to the need to end conflicts in the Middle East, North Africa and Afghanistan.
