Galenia secunda

Citation: Sonder, Fl. Capens. 2:474 (1862).

Synonymy: Aizoon secundum L.f., Suppl. 261 (1782).

Common name: None

Description:
Greyish densely villous perennial; stems prostrate, softly woody, often 20-50 cm long, grey, with 1-2 mm long more or less spreading hairs; leaves grey-white, densely covered with hair-like scales, usually crowded towards the ends of the branches, elliptic to obovate, usually-3-12 mm long, usually somewhat folded and recurved.

Perianth greenish-white, yellow inside, 2-3 mm long; anthers yellow (?always); styles usually 4.

Biology: No text

Taxonomic notes: Black's (1948) description was based mainly on specimens of G. pubescens. There are several specimens with the indumentum of this species but the leaf arrangement of G. pubescens, requiring further investigation.
