Above are 3 different species of myxozoans from the same individual Lepomis marginatus. On the left are 3 gill filaments (dark structures) with 1 myxozoan cyst attached to the far left filament. In the middle are spores from cysts located on the fins, and on the right is a partially ruptured cyst, showing spores, that was found on the surface of the heart.
