The new CASIO DT-X8 is considerably more compact (280g) than the tried-and-tested DT-X30 warehouse hand-held device and much tougher than the elegant DT-X7. With this new device, CASIO is once again making its mark with values that set the benchmark for mobile computers. "The Japanese developers working on the DT-X8 project were given the remit of producing the perfect combination of excellent ergonomics under tough conditions and optimum functionality", reveals Thomas Uppenkamp, Sales Manager of the Mobile Industrial Solutions division of CASIO Europe GmbH.

All-Range-Imager
The new Casio DT-X8 All-Range has a clearly visible aiming point and uses its high-performance autofocus CMOS imager to read all standard barcodes, two-dimensional codes with high volumes of data such as the DataMatrix, Aztec, QR Code or PDF417, as well as many other stacked codes. Depending on the resolution, the codes can also be read quickly and efficiently at a range of several centimetres as well as from greater distances.

Dust and splash-water proof in accordance with IP67

CASIO hardware stands for complete reliability and long life. The devices prove their worth every day in tough working conditions. The housing of the DT-X8 is made from durable plastic and can survive several drops from 3 metres. The terminal is also dust and splash-proof in accordance with IP67 and is fully functional in temperatures of -20°C to +50°C. Whether in rain, sun or extremely cold temperatures, the DT-X8 has what it takes to survive for many years in tough working conditions.

RFID + NFC

The Casio DT-X8 with RFID reads and writes tags in accordance with ISO15693 I-CODE SLI®, Tag-it® and my-d®. When it comes to contactless smart cards and Near Field Communication (NFC), it supports protocols in accordance with ISO14443 A/B, FeliCa® and Mifare®.

Versatilely applicable

Besides the standard equipment that comes with the new DT-X8, especially its handy design, ensure that this hand-held terminal is extremely ergonomic and suitable for applications requiring frequent and rapid scanning in tough conditions. Among those who could benefit from such a device are transportation and logistics companies and, in particular, industrial and commercial enterprises.

Unlimited wireless communication

For data exchange, the DT-X8 is equipped with Bluetooth® 2.0 with EDR, WLAN (IEEE802.11b/g) and WPA2 encryption as standard. Thanks to the built-in microphone and loudspeaker, user can handle VOIP calls and record memos.

For the first time, CASIO is offering the DT-X8 as a complete set – with all the accessories required for immediate use: 2860-mAh battery with mains adapter, USB cable, communication (USB) and charger adapter, wrist strap and stylus.
