Russell Taylor is an interdisciplinary artist possessing a broad musical range heavily informed by the rich sounds of American cities he’s called home throughout his life (Philly, New York, and the DMV). He approaches his artistry with a soulful flair rooted in showmanship and a commitment to grow and connect with audiences authentically. Taylor's willingness to experiment with various sounds is one that has allowed him to navigate through various genres effortlessly. It is this experimental nature that lead to his feature in award-winning artist Steffani Jemison’s installation at the New York’s MoMA entitled The Promise Machine. Steeped in the rich musical tradition of Philadelphia, Russell absorbed the sounds and style of the artists that came before him as well as his peers. He has performed in sold-out shows at the Apollo, was voted one of VH1’s You Oughta Know Artists, and his music has featured on The Morning Buzz Live, Stop/Watch & shows like Marvel Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., The Fosters, Degrassi the Next Generation, Atlanta Exes and Black Ink Crew.
