Bahrain defeated Kuwait 6-3 in a friendly Dual Match where Denis Latypov was the best boxer of the event

Bahrain Boxing Federation welcomed Team Kuwait to a friendly encounter which was held in their capital city in Manama at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. The final result was 6:3 in the favour of Bahrain and the most exciting bout of the Dual Match was won by host nation’s Denis Latypov who won the super heavyweight (+91kg) fight by RSC.
Bahrain Boxing Federation’s first big event was the Battle of Bahrain International Tournament which was held in the end of June and supported their boxers to meet with the region’s best athletes in various age groups. The Bahrain vs. Kuwait Dual Match was also held in different age groups from the schoolboys up to the elite level.
The first bout of the whole Dual Match was won by Ali Bukhalaf who attended at the ASBC Asian Confederation Schoolboys Boxing Championships in Kuwait City. The 14-year-old local boxer had a tough battle against Kuwait’s best schoolboy Mohamed Al-Enezi but finally his hand was raised winning the bout by split decision.
Bahrain and Kuwait both nations have been preparing to the upcoming ASBC Asian Junior Boxing Championships which is scheduled to be held in Fujairah, United Arab Emirates. All of the three junior fights were won by Team Kuwait, firstly Rashid Fawaz was slightly better than Bahrain’s best in this age group Sayed Fadhel Abbas Salman Abdulla at the pinweight (46kg). Mohammed Khudafa (60kg) and Khalid Al-Marshood (+80kg) also defeated their opponents from Bahrain securing two further successes for Kuwait.
The first elite fight was won by Mohamed Bilal who is a 20-year-old hope from Bahrain with strong Pakistani roots. Bilal attended in the Bangkok 2019 ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships this April and his international experiences paid off when he met with Kuwait’s Humood Al-Mutairi. Bilal led their contest by large margin of differences when Kuwait’s ringside abandoned their unequal fight.
Yousif Al-Balooshi claimed bronze medal in the 2019 UAE Ramadan Boxing Championships who controlled all of the rounds against Kuwait’s Abdulrahman Faraj at the bantamweight (57kg). Bahrain’s next success was achieved by Ali Saeed after stopping Kuwait’s Dhari Humood at the light welterweight (64kg). Bahrain’s four-in-a-row success was won by UAE Ramadan Boxing Championships gold medallist Abdullah Fadhel at the welterweight (69kg).
