Enoplognatha thoracica (Hahn, 1833)
Whether this small spider is genuinely scarce or even rare in Nottinghamshire, could be up for question. There are records from the Sherwood Forest Country Park surveys in 1977 and 1978 by the British Arachnological Society's Survey team, which remain the site's only records of the species. There are a few other county records with a cluster of records from Clumber Park, the Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust's Idle Valley NR and most recently, from a cedar and conifer needle litter sample, taken rom the old part of Retford Cemetery in April 2023.
