 Nymphs and adults have long submental gills, but other gills are absent; clusters of fine hairs on the back of the head and along the top of the thorax, but not in a dense row. Male 10th tergum is cleft and the epiproct and lateral stylets are well developed; males often short winged, hide under rocks and streamside debris.
