Ndolge Kennels (pronounced Indulge) was established in 1985 and is owned by Tracey Lane.
I was born in a family that had showed and bred dogs for many years. So it was inevitable that the showing/breeding bug was passed on. My family began breeding Labradors and Curly Coated Retrievers in the early 70’s and added English Springer Spaniels in 1975. These breedings were under the “Gecane” prefix which now is home to Australia’s Top Winning Staffordshire Bull Terriers.

During my childhood years I spent my time practicing and competing in Junior Handlers Competitions.
All those years of advice from my parents and other influential handlers at the time paid off with my brother Scott and I becoming
a team to be reckoned with. Between us we were very successful in handling
competitions in both Queensland and New South Wales.

One of my finest memories is wining the Sydney Royal
Top Junior Handler
in 1981 under two of Australia’s
top handlers – Mr Guy Spagnolo (Driftway Labradors) and
Mrs Norma Hamilton (Quailmoor Irish Setters).

My brother Scott also won his age group at this competition.

Junior Handlers is something that
I have always been interested in and I am now qualified to judge Junior Handlers.  Recent Judging commitments include the South Australian PAL Final in 2000 and Toowoomba Royal Show 2002.

My first show dog was a Dalmatian Bitch named  Tigammona Black Spirit "Brooke".
I partnered Brooke to many top wins during her puppy months. Tragically Brooke was taken from this world at ten months of age.

The foundation bitch at Ndolge was a Dalmatian named Australian Champion Charpen Avril Charm - “Ellie-May”.  “Ellie-May” produced two litters for Ndolge with top winning progeny in Australia and New Zealand.  Ellie-May produced Aust Ch Ndolge Royal Destiny - “Whitney” for Ricochez Kennels who was a multi Best in Group winner and top producer herself.  “Whitney” is the mother of SBIS/MBIS Aust Ch Ricochez Willow who is one of Queensland’s top winning Dalmatians at this time.

After the passing of “Ellie-May”  I decided to return to the Gundog group and purchased an English Springer Spaniel. Aust Ch Oakspur Xtra Special - “Kirra” was born in 1990 and was out of Aust Ch Cleavehill Morning Post (Imp UK).  An energetic Black and white puppy entered my busy teenage world.   “Kirra” was successful in the show ring being one of only two black and white springers being shown at the time (the other being her best mate “Flashe”) but her most success came as a mother.  Kirra had two litters but the second was the most successful producing One Grand Champion and Two Champions.

Aust Ch Equity Master Plan – “Fletcher” came to live at Ndolge in 1993 and was very successful in show ring and as a stud dog.  “Fletcher” won Puppy in Show at the ESSAQ Inaugural Show and Best of Breed at the 1997 Brisbane Royal Show as well as many other Royal Reserve Challenges and Specialty Class in Shows along the way.  “Fletcher” is now retired from the show ring and resides with my parents at Ricochez Kennels.

From “Kirra” mated to “Fletcher” came “MBIS Grand Champion Ndolge Bite the Bullet” who was a black and white dog with an abundance of personality.  Brady was a Best in Show winner by the time he was 11 months old.  Brady was the first Black and White Grand Champion in Australia.  Being a multi Best in Show winner Brady is now semi-retired from the show ring.  He will be making appearances at shows in the future in the Veteran class.  Also from this litter was Aust Ch Ndolge Almost a Saint who is also a multi Best in Group winner and is owned by Lee and Steve Duke.

In 1998 I was lucky to have the opportunity to purchase a liver and white puppy from one of New Zealand’s Top Kennels “Espaneire”.  Off the plane arrived a very naughty girl – Aust Ch Espaneire Out of the Box (Imp NZ) “Keellee”.
Keellee’s sire is NZ Ch Bowswood Brown Brogue (Imp UK).  Keellee is a
grandfather/granddaughter mating and had top English lines on both sides. Keellee has had a successful showing career from the beginning having won 7 Baby Puppy in Groups from 9 outings. Keellee has continued that success during her show career. Although sparingly shown lately “Keellee” will be shown during 2003 before having her next litter.

In the year 2000 I decided to mate “Keellee” to top winning All Breeds and Specialty winner Grand Ch Alhambra Oliver Reed.  “Keellee” produced 6 bitches and 1 dog.  We kept a dog and a bitch being Aust Ch Ndolge Collectors Item – “Spencer” and Aust Ch Ndolge Ounce Obounce – “Pippa”.  Both these youngsters have proved themselves time and time again in the showring both being Best in Group Winners and multi class in show winners.  It was great to partner these youngsters to their most recent big win contesting Best of Breed at the 2002 Brisbane Royal under Mr Carlos Saevich (UK).  Spencer going on to win Best of Breed and Runner up in Group.  We look forward to a to winning future from these youngsters.

Not only did we keep Spencer and Pippa but also a young innocent black and white puppy arrived from Fairsky Kennels being Fairsky Murder onthMoor “Flynn”. Flynn is sired by Brady and is out of Fairsky Anne of Cleves who spent most of 2000 living at Ndolge. Flynn is a Specialty Best in Show winner, multi runner up in group winner and class in show winner.
Being the class clown at Ndolge we also look forward to a
successful future from Flynn.

Ndolge aims to breed Springers that are correct ENGLISH type, temperament and are sound. We are a very successful kennel based on top English lines.  We only breed litters when we wish to keep a Springer ourselves. As well as my Springers I currently handle top winning Staffordshire Bull Terriers, Gordon Setters and Dalmatians for may family. I hope you enjoy surfing through the NDOLGE site and don’t forget to check out my families sites that can be found by clicking the following links
