The shell is stocky, solid, thick, with a paucispiral protoconch. Teleoconch of circa 4 whorls quickly increasing in diameter, very convex, separated from each other by a shallow suture. Sculpture: 7 strong axial ribs, wider than their interspaces, crossed by marked spiral beads (5 above the aperture, the three of the periphery being the strongest); microsculpture made up of rough growth marks that come across the spirals. Pattern: series of red-brownish dots lined up on the beads; background colour whitish; occasional presence of some larger and darker blotches on the spirals.
