Protatlanta souleyeti (E. A. Smith, 1888)
Worldwide warm waters. Swimming predator of the photic zone. Synonyms: lamanoni, mediterranea… In fact, there are only two extant species, which differ morphologically by the sculpture of the early whorls: in souleyeti they are smooth, in sculpta they are not. Above: a specimen found in coralligenous debris from 85m deep, Saronic Gulf, SE. Greece. 2mm.
