Barryshall Stone Pair, Cork

Barryshall Stone Pair Not far From Timoleague is Barryshall country house. On pastureland immediately to the east of the house are two groups of stones. The group furthest west is a stone pair. The stones are aligned NNE-SSW and stand just 2.2 metres apart. The SW stone is 2.65 metres high by 1.8 metres wide. The smaller stone is only 1.2 metres high by 0.55 metres wide. Forty eight metres to the NNE are two more standing stones but they are not a standard pairing. The landowners were extremely accommodating during my visit.

Situated: From Timoleague head south on the R600. After 900 metres turn left at Argideen GAA club. Then turn right at the t-junction. Drive 400 metres. The stones are in the field on your left.
