Polygala myrtifolia

Myrtle Leaf

It grows both as an indoor and outdoor plant.

The leaves are an intense green colour and grow all year round. It flowers in the shape of a butterfly with a wonderful constant purple violet colour, normally between the months of February and November.

Can be used as a potted decorative shrub plant in any sunny corner. If transplanted outdoors it can grow as a large tree up to 2 meters, preferably in rocky and alpine gardens, rockeries and sloping grounds, or simply as an isolated specimen.

It needs plenty of sun and well-drained soils. It stands out for its resistance to salinity.
