Found in New Guinea, Solomon Islands and the Bismark Archipelago on trees in forests at elevations around 300 to 800 meters as a medium sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with branching, erect to spreading stems carrying distichous, oblong-lanceolate, unequally bilobed apically, gradually narrowing below into the basally clasping leaves that blooms in the winter on a terminal, short, usually single flowered inflorescence

Differs from the others in the genus by the long stem and long, blunt leaves as well as the arrangment of the teeth on the clinandrum and the sulphur yellow color of the flowers
