Fragrant Partial Shade Cool LATEWinter EARLY Spring

Common Name or Meaning The Bao Shan Cymbidium - In China Bao Shan Lan

Flower Size 2 to 3.2" [5 to 8 cm]

Found in southwestern Yunnan province of China and northern Thailand as a natural hybrid between C lowianum and C tigrinum i forests at elevations of 1600 to 1700 meters as a medium sized, cool growing epiphyte with ovoid-globose, bilaterally flattened pseudobulbs partially enveloped by leaf bases carrying 2 to 7, distichous, somewhat oblanceolate, acuminate, apiculate, articulate below into a distinct petiolate base leaves that blooms in the late winter and early spring on an arching to suberect, basal, peduncle provided with several long sheaths, 11.6 to 16" [29 to 40 cm] long, rachis 6 to 9 flowered inflorescence with triangular, shorter than the ovary floral bracts and carrying scented flowers.
