Found in New Guinea in seasonally dry lowlands in exposed locations often along streams at elevations of 100 to 500 meters as a giant sized, hot growing epiphyte with crowded, elongated, laterally compressed, many branched, pendulous, apically with scale leafs only stems carrying many suberect, succulent, strongly laterally compressed, lanceolate, fleshy, sharply acute leaves that blooms in the winter through early fall on a lateral 1 to 3 flowered inflorescence arising in fasciles from the upper part of the leafless the stems and carrying sweetly scented flowers that occur a few days after a rain.
