Common Name The Honduran Pleurothallis

Flower Size .1" [2.5 mm]

Found in Belize, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua in tropical rain forests at elevations around 100 to 600 meters on tree trunk, often near rivers and swamps as a mini-miniature sized, scandent, hot to warm growing, shortly repent epiphyte with an elongate, slender, terete stem enveloped basally by a few tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, narrowly elliptic, acute-acuminate, tridenticulate apically, gradually narrowing basally into the base leaf that blooms in the late winter and spring on a terminal, basally enveloped by a conduplicate, spatheaceous bract, terete, shorter than the leaf, racemose, densely several [9] flowered inflorescence with an obliquely funnel-shaped, obtuse, as long to longer than the ovary floral bract.

"Characterized by the acute, narrowly elliptic, thickly coriaceous, leaf borne by a terte ramicaul that is slightly compressed above. The raceme is shorter than the leaf with several, fleshy, purplish or purple striped flowers borne on a loose raceme. The sepals are acute, the laterals connate, the petals are minutely serrate and the lip is thick and glabrous with obtusely angled sides between the middle and basal thirds." Luer 2004
