Range: Indo West Pacific Ocean: Mauritius, South Africa north to India, west to the Philippines, and southwest to Australia and Lord Howe Island.

Natural Environment: A common alga under moderate to fairly turbulent water movement, extending from sheltered areas with strong current flow to shallow to deep water on rough-water coastlines.
