Established in 1814 as a food shop, L.W.C. Michelsen quietly grew into Hamburg’s most prestigious specialist delicatessen. As a former purveyor by appointment to the Emperor and King, and later with an integrated specialty restaurant, Michelsen became the location in Hamburg for the finest food and drink. Well-known and loved in addition was our own city kitchen, in which large buffets were prepared, fresh everyday for special occasions, according to homemade recipes.
Today, both as a producer and wholesaler, Michelsen exclusively supplies luxury shops with choice specialities, still made to this day, traditonally, and according to old homemade recipes. Even today, the selected products are carefully handmade using only the very best ingredients. The name Michelsen stands for first-class quality.
