"Soul Blast - AWC Seeking Female Singers for Tribute to Phyllis Hyman"

AUGUST WILSON CENTER
SEEKING FEMALE SINGERS TO PERFORM IN
TRIBUTE TO PHYLLIS HYMAN

August Wilson Center for African American Culture is conducting an open audition for dynamic female vocalists to sing and be featured in the following production:

Tribute to Phyllis Hyman
February 19, 2010
8 pm

Rediscover the regal beauty and vocal sophistication of the late Phyllis Hyman. Whether in a recording studio, on the Broadway stage or under the soft glow of an intimate jazz club, the Philadelphia-born, Pittsburgh-bred chanteuse sang with the kind of power and vulnerability rarely seen in today's music industry. Local and national artists pay tribute to the singer by performing many of her greatest hits, including "No One Can Love You More" and "You Know How to Love Me".

Up to four female singers will be selected. Don't worry--you do not have to look, act or sing like Phyllis Hyman to be chosen. We want hear YOUR great voice!

Open auditions will be held
Wednesday, January 13 and Thursday, January 14
from 6 pm to 9 pm

at the August Wilson Center,
980 Liberty Avenue, Downtown Pittsburgh, Pa., 15222
