From where do you get the correct identification and nomenclature.  Hats off to you.

Dear Tapas ji,
Marks for my correct identification are just about 50/100 - a very dangerous score. :-)
Credits for identification go to a long list of my friends at efloraofindia, Mr Shrikant Ingalhalikar, Dr Tabish Qureshi, many friends at flickr website.

Nomenclature is found in many reputed sites - NPGS / GRIN, The Plants List, ...

Thank you very very much Tapas ji for the appreciation.

Regards.

Although Flora of Thailand continues to treat is as Glochidion assamicum, I merged the species with G. ellipticum.  The same treatment is maintained in Fl. of India vol. 23.  The shallowly lobed 4-locular fruits are unique.

A correction here.  The first two photos are of G. ellipticum, which has shallowly 4-lobed fruits.  But the last two photos with lanceolate leaves and deeply lobed fruits with button-like styles represent Glochidion candolleanum.

A further reply:
"Whatever identifications I made as Glochidion candolleanum (syn. G. neilgherrense) are actually referable to Glochidion hohenackeri.
Sorry for the mistake and inconveniences caused. Please inform everybody.
Regrets.
Tapas Chakrabarty."
