Hello,

I'm including Two-Ray Interference Model in my simulation as indicated in Modules page. In the model I also use beacons messages. But when I included the model in config.xml I noticed that all beacons are lost even when transmitter and receiver are close. Checking the model in default example I noticed that the same behavior occur. The logs bellow show a beacon from node 0 received (and not detected) by node 1:

Are there any additional parameter to change that minimize this attenuation to a real behavior? Am I using this model correctly?

Thanks in advance!

Your screenshot shows both
(a) "Add attenuation for (freq, lambda, phi, gamma, att)"
and
(b) "sqrdistance is: "

In Veins 5a1,
(a) is ouput by TwoRayInterferenceModel.cc
and
(b) is output by SimplePathlossModel.cc

Thus, I'm guessing that you are attenuating signals twice based on distance, first using
model (a) - the red line of [1].
and then again, using
model (b) - the top blue line of [1].

If this is the case, edit config.xml to include either model (a) or (b), not both.

Best,

Christoph

Dear Prof. Sommer,

You are right. I was using the both models. The problem is solved leaving only Two Ray Interference Model in config.xml. Many thanks!

I have one additional question: I'm also planning to use Vehicle Obstacle Shadowing model. Can I use this model and Two Ray Interference Model together?

Best regards,
