About this movie

Everyone is afraid of something. For Dr. Ross Jennings (Jeff Daniels), his phobia is downright embarrassing. But when he moves his family to a small town, the one thing that bugs him most is now harming the townspeople at an alarming rate. For this unlikely hero, overcoming a childhood fear of spiders might just save the community, but it may already be too late! Directed by Frank Marshall and also starring John Goodman, this hit entertains with its terrific mix of thrills, chills, and laughter!

I saw this movie many years ago as a child and it freaked me out. I decided to watch it again to see if it really was as good as I remember it, and it is! Obviously you need to take it as it is: a movie. But it's creepy and crawly, and not nearly as campy as you might expect, except for the animatronic spider at the end that was designed by Mythbuster Adam Savage! :) More realistic than the over-the-top "Kingdom of the Spiders," and twice as entertaining! Suitable for older children and adults. No violence, very little language, but tons of spiders. I recommend for a fun rental!

This movie is a more realistic version of those dumb spider attack movies. The story is great, it has a good ratio of humor and scary, and it overall looks great! Love it!

It's great. I wouldn't necessarily label it as a horror movie, but, if you have a fear of spiders, then, I guess you could call it that. I found it to be more of a suspense-type film. It's interesting.
