Fish of the Coryphoblennius genus of the Blenniidae (combtooth blennies) family of the Blenniiformes (blenny) order of the Ovalentaria clade of the Acanthopterygii superorder.

Montagu‘s blenny (Coryphoblennius galerita) was first described in 1758 by the Swedish naturalist Carl Linnaeus (1707-1778).
It occurs next to the coastal zone, hiding under stones. The maximum recorded length is 7.6 cm. It feeds on crustaceans and algae.

It is a permanent inhabitant of the Adriatic Sea.
