Texas A&M opened its doors in 1876 as the state’s first public institution of higher learning. Today, it stands as a research-intensive flagship university dedicated to sending Aggie leaders out into the world prepared to take on the challenges of tomorrow.

The Texas A&M-RELLIS campus is a collaborative ecosystem built to foster advanced research, technology development, testing and evaluation, higher education, and hands-on career training. Prairie View A&M University is the second-oldest public institution of higher education in the state of Texas. It is a historically black college and university that, since its inception in 1876, has opened its doors to ant and every person – inside and outside of Texas – seeking a first-class, four-year university experience.

Texas A&M University-Commerce transforms lives through its mission to “Educate. Discover. Achieve.” With locations all over Dallas and East Texas, Texas A&M-Commerce delivers 130 unique academic degrees and serves nearly 11,000 students.

Texas A&M University-Kingsville grew out of the teacher college or “normal school” movement that swept Texas and the nation in the early 1900s. Chartered in 1917 but not opened until 1925 because of America’s entry into World War I, the University is the oldest continuously operating public institution of higher learning in South Texas.

Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi is the Island University — the only university in the nation located on its own island at the heart of the Texas Gulf Coast.
