President Joe Biden will stop briefly in Anchorage on Thursday during a flight from Washington, D.C., to Asia.

The president’s stopover was revealed in a notice published this week by the Federal Aviation Administration.

According to the notice, Air Force One and supporting aircraft will stop in Anchorage sometime between 1:45 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.

A White House spokesman said he was unable to provide additional information about the stopover, including whether the president plans to leave Air Force One during the stop.

Presidents frequently stop in Anchorage on international flights, and the arrival of Air Force One is not uncommon.

Former President Donald Trump spoke with Gov. Mike Dunleavy during his stopovers in Alaska; the governor will be in Juneau on Thursday, a spokesman for the governor said.

Biden is en route to Japan and South Korea, his first trip to Asia since becoming president.

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said during a regularly scheduled news conference that the president intends to show support for American allies in the region.
