The Balmoral Royal Selection is made by hand in San Pedro de Macoris in the Dominican Republic. After the fermentation and maturation process, the right tobacco leaves are selected to be able to put together the blend for the Balmoral Royal Selection Maduro Robusto. The used tobacco leaves of the Maduro are aged for two to three years. Each cigar is individually inspected for draft, construction and appearance. For the cigars that satisfy, a maturing process of 6 months in a conditioned, cedar wood climate chamber follows.

Size: 5.1×52, Robusto.

Wrapper: Dark chocolate, oily and silky-smooth with tiny veins.

Construction: Firm even feel when lightly squeezed.

Cold draw: Wood and cacao.

1st third: Starts with a cacao and oakwood note.

2nd third: Keeps the same.

Burn: Burns fairly sharp with a firm and stable white ash.

Smoke: Voluminous white smoke with a cool feeling on the tongue and a light draw.

3rd third: No changes.

Duration: 22:30-23:45, 1h 15min.

Conclusion: A full bodied cigar with a medium strength profile.

Result: In my book this is an 87 point cigar.
