After being considered one of the largest works of urban mobility in Brazil in recent years and one of the fastest infrastructure works in the world, Sistema Metroviário de Salvador and Lauro de Freitas (SMSL) completed 5 years of operation on June 11.
The Metro has two lines, is 3 km long, with 20 stations and 8 bus integration terminals, 7 of which are managed by CCR Metrô Bahia, the concessionaire responsible for the implementation and operation of the system. The subway has a fleet of 40 trains. The Salvador subway connects downtown to the airport in approximately 40 minutes.
