Singapore move brought Hoya CEO closer to global operations

Hoya CEO Hiroshi Suzuki's office was moved to Singapore in 2011.

TOKYO -- Since 2010, many Japanese companies have been transferring departments and even head office functions to Singapore, taking advantage of its concentration of talent and information.

     Optical glass maker Hoya is one example. In the three and a half years since it moved its chief executive officer there, the move has paid off as Asia has grown more important for both production and sales.
