Description
Mid-canopy tree up to 35 m tall and 81 cm dbh. Stipules small. Leaves alternate, simple, tripli-veined, glabrous, with conspicuous domatia in basal secondary vein axils. Flowers ca. 8 mm diameter, white-yellow-pink, placed in panicles. Fruits ca. 19 mm long, yellow-orange-red, drupes.

Ecology
In undisturbed to slightly disturbed (open sites) mixed dipterocarp forests up to 400 m altitude. Usually along rivers and streams and on ridges. On sandy to clay soils, but also on limestone. In secondary forests usually present as a pre-disturbance remnant.

Uses
The fruits are edible.

Borneo (Sarawak, Brunei, Sabah, West- and East-Kalimantan), Philippines, Celebes.
