Description
You are bidding on a STUNNING example of a 100% ORIGINAL WW1 Imperial German Airforce Fliegertruppen Carved Wood Eagle Presentation Piece! This was awarded to Leutnant Jacob Müller, commemorating the FIRST Air Victory for Fliegerabteilung 300 “Pascha”!
Operational in April 1916, FA300 “Pascha” was part of the Fliegerabteilung der Türkische Heeresgruppe “F”. Consisting of approx. 25 members, they flew the Fokker E3, Rumpler C.I, and Pfalz E.I/E.II.
Born on June 5, 1891 in Wittlich, Germany, Jacob Muller started out as an Unteroffizier with FA300 (Fliegerabteilung 300) “Pascha”. Though not too much is known about him, he was subsequently injured in combat, and died of those injuries on November 5, 1917. He is buried in Jerusalem.
In SUPERB used condition, this HAND-CARVED Wood Award is an AMAZING piece of history! Presented to Jacob Müller, this BEAUTIFUL eagle is approx. 12″ tall, and features a Turkish Pilot’s Badge, with an inscription below. The plate indicates:
Dem Flieger Jacob Müller
Zum 1. Erfolgreichen Abschuss
Die Flg. Abt. 300 Pascha Palastina
(To Pilot Jacob Müller for the 1st Successful Air Victory
Flieger Abteilung 300 Pasha – Palestine)
Some marks, wear, scratches, and dark patina, but that is expected, due too the age. It comes complete with a Kyffhauserbund medal, that has two bars, indicating, “LUFTKAMPF” and “PALESTINA”. This was probably awarded Posthumously to his family after the war. A GOREOUS piece of history, it would make for a PERFECT addition to any collection or display!
