The religion of Bahrain is Islam. The holy place is the Mosque, where Muslims go to learn and pray for their God 'Allah'. This ritual occurs (at the most) five times a day. Anyone can visit the Mosque but especially make sure you are clean and leave your shoes outside to respect the Muslims and 'Allah'. The island is known for it's pure white pearls produced. The experienced sailors go out to sea for the months of June-September to bring back these precious pearls. They discovered these Bahraini pearls before the detection of oil! The shiny pearls were the main source of income and still is today. |
