Yellowstripe Scad

Selaroides leptolepis

Silvery with a pale or vidid yellow horizontal stripe from head to tail. Dark spot at the back edge of the gill lid. Narrow, strip-like row of bone keels from the middle of the body to the tail.

Size : 20 cm

Habitat : At reef edges, coastal reefs and bays, frequently to be seen near pier jettys, 3-20 m. Usually forms large, dense schools.

Distribution : Arabian Gulf to SW Japan, and North Australia.
