Cory Carr is Hapoel Tel Aviv′s most experienced played, and definitely one of the most experienced guys in the EUROHOLD Balkan League overall. Here is what he had to say after the team′s 75:68 win against KK Ulcinj at home in Hadar Yosef.

Q: What are your thoughts of the game, your team had some ups and downs?

Cory Carr: Well the Montenegrin team never stopped playing, they have good shooters, also good big guys. It was a tough game, in the last five minutes we relaxed and it showed, but we′re happy with the win. A Balkan League game, kept us at the top of the leaderboard, and we′re trying to get where we need to be.

Q: How do you feel about the Balkan League, how does it feel for your team?

CC: I think that the Balkan League has a different style than the Israeli league obviously. The Israeli league is a lot more faster, while the Balkan League has a lot more European style of basketball, but we′re doing a good job trying to adjust, we′re playing against good European teams and that′s giving the young guys experience. I think it′s gonna help us down the road.

Q: Do you think you can go all the way to the Final Four perhaps?

CC: Well I don′t know, we′re taking one game at a time, we started out well, we protected our home court, which is important, and we got to keep going. We′re going to Bosnia next month, anything can happen, but we definitely put ourselves in a good position to move forward.

Q: Do you think you can win the Israeli National League?

CC: We′re playing for a team with a lot of tradition, and they definitely want to go and take the championship and move to the first division. We definitely have the tools to get the job done, but we still have to go and show it on the floor and work hard. We also have to be healthy in the end, and guys got to be in the right form in the right time, but we have an opportunity to do some things.   Hapoel Tel Aviv has a 3-1 balance after playing four games in Group B of the 2011/2012 EUROHOLD Balkan League. 37-year old veteran Cory Carr has been one of the team′s top performers, averaging 11.0 points, 3.8 assists and 1.8 steals per contest.
