Aloe Saponaria Botanical Name: Aloe saponaria Common name: Coral Groundcover Aloe Attracts: Hummingbirds Aloe saponaria, commonly known as Coral Groundcover Aloe, has beautiful striations that make for intricate horizontal color patterns on flattened leaves that lay close to the ground in tight rosettes. Clumps spread by underground stolons producing new plants inches to feet away from the original plant, forming a nice ground cover of succulent leaves. The big surprise is in the fall when hundreds of 2′ tall flower stems arise, full of brilliant coral colored flowers. These stems make very good cut flowers for bouquets, lasting a long time in arrangements. Good in full sun, to quite a lot of shade. Regular garden watering to very water-wise situations Type: Succulent Exposure: Full Sun or Shade Height Height: 6 Inches Width: 3-5 Feet, Slowly Hardy To: 22° F Blooms: Coral during Fall
