Emani Cosmetics – A Review

Makeup … a total weakness of mine, lucky for me it’s also my career … as a Makeup Artist I love checking out new makeup!

Emani Cosmetics was founded in California in 1998 and they believe in beauty being an experience that is Cruelty Free, Gluten Free and Vegan friendly. They use natural and organic ingredients in products that they claim are high performing and long lasting. They kindly sent me some of their products to review so here goes!

Miracle 7 in 1 Primer Serum

The 7 in 1 Miracle Primer Serum is designed as either skincare type of serum for under your moisturiser, a moisturiser or a primer for over moisturiser and under makeup! It contains Hyaluronic Acid to assist with moisture in the skin and Argireline which is used for its anti-aging and anti-wrinkle properties. Personally I used this as a primer under foundation and it’s lovely and light! A gel texture which applies smoothly and left my skin with a slight tackiness which was great for the foundation to adhere to.

The cream foundation (albeit the shade Light is a little too warm for me) was a really lovely foundation to use. It applied really well over the primer and gave my skin a really good coverage without feeling heavy on my skin. It is said to be infused with Peptides, Gold and Peat to leave skin feeling fresh and natural. The cream to powder formula also has moisturising properties so when applied it didn’t leave my skin feeling like it was caked in makeup and if anything felt really light on my skin, surprising for a cream foundation! It does come with an application pad but personally I prefer to use a beauty sponge with foundation so that’s how I applied it.

Organic Soy Infused Mascara

I’m just going to put it out there, I was really impressed with this mascara! The wand is more of a hybrid between a spiky comb and a brush … which I much prefer over the bushy mascara wands that get all clumped up and messy! Emani claim that is separates, curls and lengthens lashes, I would pretty much agree with that, along with the smudge proof formula for all day wear … I had no issues with smudging or transfer. The soy protein is desgined to help smooth and condition lashes and they also claim it to be a sensitive formula, suitable for the most sensitive eyes, this I can’t comment on as my eyes aren’t sensitive generally to any mascara but I can confirm it’s a really lovely mascara.

Promiscuous Hydrating Lipstick

The Promiscuous lipstick is certainly a bold red! It contains Vitamin E to help protect the lips and is infused with natural apricot and sunflower oils to give lips a smooth and plump finish. Upon applying this lipstick from the first use, it is highly pigmented, gives a great colour payoff, feels smooth and hydrating on the lips and doesn’t cause them to dry out at all. When I tested this makeup, I did so on a live Facebook video and along with using this as a lipstick, I also dabbed a little onto my cheeks to use as blusher which I sometimes do when I am using a lipstick with a good pigment like this. It also meant that my lips and cheeks toned nicely together.

The look …

All in all I enjoyed testing these out. The mascara stayed as a regular use in my day to day makeup and will feature in my next empties post!
