Dr. Frank N. Furter (1975)

Dr. Frank N. Furter (Tim Curry) is the cross-dressing mad scientist in the film The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975).

He is a mad scientist type (from space) who was attempting to create the perfect man, Rocky. In his own words, Dr. Frank N. Furter is a "Sweet transvestite from transsexual Transylvania." 

When a wholesome young couple — Brad (Barry Bostwick) and Janet (Susan Sarandon) — have their car break down, they retreat to a spooky castle to use the phone. While there, they get caught up in the high jinx of Frank and his residents. 

Over the course of the evening, Frank seduces both Brad and Janet. He also creates Rocky (Peter Hinwood) to be his lover.

In 2016, Laverne Cox reprised the roll in The Rocky Horror Picture Show: Let's Do The Timewarp Again.
