Summary
Tree 3-10m, shoots striate, tomentose when young. Leaves broadly ovate deltoid 12-30*11-24cm, shortly acuminate, base truncate or cordate, petiole inserted 1-2.5cm above base, margins sinuate denticulate palmately 9-11 veined at base with 5-11 sessile discoid glands on lowermost veins on upper surface, minor veins parallel, prominent beneath, beneath, subglabrous ,lower surface densely gland dotted; petioles 8-17cm,stipules lancoelate 7mm, caducous. Panicles axillary 5-10cm. Male flowers minute sessile 1.5mm, sepals 2-3,stamens 12. Female flowers on short pedicels, calyx 1mm, ovary deeply biloded,styles 2-3recurved . capsules deeply bilobed 4mm, gland doted.

    Family Description

    Trees, shrubs or herbs often with milky sap, indumentum of simple or stellate hairs, rarely peltate sceles, leaves alternate skometimes opposite or palmate at base usually stipulate. Monoeacious or dioecious; flowers small, solitary or in clusters, spikes, racemes, pannicles or cymes or in cup like cyathia, unisexual actinomorphic. calyx of 3-6 fee partly united segements, petals 3-6 lr often abscent. stamens 2-many, free or variously united into a column or bundles. Ovary superior 2-4 celled. styles 2-4, free or united, simple or bifid, ovules 1-2 per ceel, acile. Fruit usually a capsule aplitting into 2-3 segements, each 1-2 seeded, ocassionlly fleshy or leathery and indehiscent seeds often arillate

    Genus Description

    Evergreen trees, indumentum of simple or fasciled hairs. Leaves alternate, palmately 5-13 veined and often peltate at base, sometimes pinnately veined to base, minutely gland dottted beneath,often with discoid glands on veins near base, stipules small or large often caducous. Dioecious, flowers in al=xillary racemes or panicels. Male flowers minute, clustered in axil of bracts, calyx 2-4 lobed petals absent , stamens 2-20, free anthers 3-4 celled, Female flowers few in axil of bract, calux 2-4 lobed, petals absent ovary 1-3 cekked styles 1-3, simple. Capsules simple or deeply 2-3 seeded.
