Obituary of Eva Falk (nee Peters)

Eva Falk (nee Peters) was born on March 14, 1926, in Niverville, Manitoba. As a young girl, Eva enjoyed attending school and church in Little Village Inn. She was blessed to have three brothers and four sisters, who all helped out with life on the farm, and to share the experiences of childhood with. She enjoyed learning very much, and always wished she could have had the experience of furthering her education. Instead, she met and married the love of her life, John G. Falk at the age of 20. They were married in the Randolph CMC church, and shortly after, they moved to Paraguay, South America to begin their new life together. There they were blessed with the births of three daughters and five sons (one of whom died in infancy): Martha (Jake), Leonard (Helena), Ben (Mary), Pete (Elma), Rose (Cornie), and Amanda. Eva was predeceased by her son John in 1993 and her daughter-in-law Angela in 2011. Her beloved husband passed away in 1989. Eva presently has one daughter Rose and her family living in Bolivia, as well as a grand-daughter and her four children living in South America. Eva leaves to mourn her 21 grandchildren and their families, and 38 great-grandchildren. Our Mom and Oma lived a full life, both in Paraguay, and when they moved back to Manitoba in the 1980's. She was full of spunk and loved a good joke or riddle. She also enjoyed sewing, quilting, writing and music. However, her favorite times were spent with family. Nothing cheered her more than a visit from her grandchildren or her great-grandchildren. When we would ask her how she was doing, Oma would always answer, "I'm trying to be good!" We know that today, she truly is good, and made whole in the presence of her Saviour. We all hold memories of Mom and Oma that are dear to us. She was a special woman and we thank God for the many good years He gave her. Eva spent her last days at the Heritage Life Personal Care Home in Niverville. She passed away Friday, May 9, 2014 at the age of 88. The family wishes to thank Dr. Chris, the nurses and staff for their wonderful care. Viewing will be held Monday, May 12, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. with a devotional at 7:30 p.m., at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB. A viewing will also be held at the church prior to the service. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Niverville CMC Church, with burial to follow at Heritage cemetery, Niverville, MB. If friends so desire, donations in memory of Eva may be made to Heritage Life PCH, 100A Heritage Trail, Niverville MB R0A 1E0.
