The original model year is correct as you put it, 2006.There might have been different specs for USA and the
rest of the world.
I only have access to the non-USA specs, you will find
them attached.Also attached the original art department's comprehensive
layout.The designer was most likely Brett King who is still working for
us as the head of the art department.
We first offered the model Base
as a entry level dirt/trail BMX bike in model year 2003. Back then it had a
18.5" top tube. It was accompanied by a 12" and 16" version for smaller kids
(with different spec). In the following year this model received a 20" top
tube.We finally came out with a 18.5" and a 20/20.5" version in the
following.We continue to offer these two models every year until
