Where to Order Thanksgiving 2020 Takeout Around Boston

Want to put in just a bit of effort or avoid cooking entirely this Thanksgiving? Lots of area restaurants are offering takeout options for the holidays — complete meals ready to go, including cooked turkeys or other main courses; meal kits that let you do some of the cooking yourself; and plenty of a la carte sides and pies.

Note: Some restaurants fall into multiple categories below; the full details are included on first mention with a brief note in subsequent relevant sections.


Cook-at-Home Meal Kits

Some effort required

  • Bianca (47 Boylston St., Chestnut Hill): This 14-pound turkey comes brined for cooking at home or par-cooked to heat at home. It’s served with gravy and cranberry sauce, whipped mashed potatoes, fennel sausage stuffing, Brussels sprouts, salad, macaroni and cheese, rolls, and choice of pie. The meal is meant to serve six and costs $295; add $30 if ordering the turkey par-cooked. Turkeys (cooked or not), rotisserie chicken, sides, desserts, and bottles of wine are also available a la carte. For turkey, place orders by 9 p.m. on November 18; orders not involving turkey can be placed until 9 p.m. on November 22. Order online.
  • The Butcher Shop (552 Tremont St., Boston): Order raw, unbrined Green Circle turkeys for pickup at the Butcher Shop, along with an a la carte selection of sides (stuffing, whipped honeynut squash, buttered peas, etc.), pies, breads, and wines. Order online by 5 p.m. on November 20 for pickup November 23 through 25.
  • Clink at the Liberty Hotel (215 Charles St., Boston): This meal kit feeds up to six people ($369) and includes a 12-14-pound turkey, pre-marinated and ready to roast (comes with pan, instructions, and a turkey hotline number for last-minute problems). Also included: mashed potatoes, butternut squash, cranberry sauce, gravy, mushroom sausage stuffing, green beans, rolls, bread for leftover turkey sandwiches, apple cider, and apple and pumpkin pies with whipped cream. There are also optional add-ons, including wine and Champagne by the bottle, a meat and cheese platter, and shrimp cocktail. Order by November 23 at noon by emailing clink@libertyhotel.com.
  • Coppa (253 Shawmut Ave., Boston): This one’s mostly ready to eat, but you’ll need to cook the anise and nardello pepper-brined turkey yourself (comes with roasting pan and instructions). It feeds six to eight people and comes with sausage stuffing; porcini and celery root puree; roasted sweet potatoes with maple, bacon, and parmesan; Brussels sprouts with honey, chile, and almonds; cranberry sauce; and gravy; plus optional add-ons including day-after sandwich kits, pizza kits, oysters, apple crisp, cider, beer, and wine. $125 for the turkey, $125 for the sides, $240 for both.   • Dinner at Mary’s (Boston-area delivery): For an early Thanksgiving (or Friendsgiving), this local meal kit company is delivering a ready-to-cook three-course meal (two servings per order, $79) on November 19, including chicory and persimmon salad; herbed turkey ballotine; potato and fennel gratin; roasted Brussels; apple, sage, and roasted garlic stuffing; smoked cranberry and maple chutney; and an optional gift of cannabis-infused olive oil. Add on a CBD-infused pie ($36) by Lionheart Confections — pumpkin caramel macchiato, French silk, or bourbon chai apple — or order pies on their own (minimum order of three). Order online by November 17. (While the meal kit is only available for delivery on the 19th, the pies are also available a second week — order by the 23rd for delivery on the 25th.)
  • Eataly (800 Boylston St., Boston): Eataly is offering a large selection of items for Thanksgiving preorder, including turkeys from several different farms and other raw meats like ham and ribeye. There are also pastas and sauces, meat and cheese platters, breads, caviar kits, desserts, and more. (Prepared dinners are also available for four or eight, $190 or $360, including rotisserie roasted maple syrup brined bone-in turkey breast, apple cider braised turkey leg, meats and cheeses, an autumn pasta dish, and more.) Order before November 19 by emailing bostonpreorders@eataly.com or calling (617) 807-7300; pickup times are available from November 23 through 25.
  • Juliet (257 Washington St, Somerville): The restaurant is offering a variety of Thanksgiving catering options, including a turkey dinner that you’ll mostly prepare at home. The turkey comes brined and spatchcocked, and there’s also mashed potatoes, gravy, cornbread stuffing, carrots, creamed spinach, cranberry sauce, chicken noodle soup, and soft rolls with butter ready to prepare. Feeds four to six people ($250). (There’s also a fully prepared dinner ($55/person) including light and dark meat turkey, soft rolls with butter, cornbread stuffing, mashed potatoes with gravy, cranberry sauce, green bean casserole, and pumpkin pie. And there are a la carte sides [green bean casserole, chicken noodle soup, cheese boards, etc.] and desserts [pies, including gluten-free options, as well as cranberry orange fudge and bake-at-home chocolate chip cookies], too.) Order online and pick up on November 24 or 25 (delivery also available in Boston, Cambridge, and Somerville).
  • Mastro’s Ocean Club (25 Fan Pier Blvd., Boston): The seafood and steakhouse chain has two takeout dinner kits, each serving four and including Caesar salad, garlic mashed, creamed corn, sweet potato mashed, creamed spinach, and pumpkin spice butter cake. One kit features 24-ounce chateaubriand with peppercorn sauce ($225); the other features prime rib au jus with creamy horseradish ($250). The steaks are raw and come with steak rubs and instructions; the sides are ready to bake. (The sides are also available on their own.) Prepared Meals With Turkey

Traditional and traditional-ish turkey dinners with all the fixings

  • Alba Prime Steak & Seafood and Alba on 53 (1486 Hancock St., Quincy; 2053 Washington St., Hanover): Both Alba locations are offering several takeout packages, including a turkey dinner for two ($60), four to six ($140), or six to eight ($220) that includes soup, salad, and a variety of sides. There’s also a prime rib dinner package available, as well as uncooked steaks a la carte, crab legs, pies, and other add-ons. Order by November 25 for pickup on Thanksgiving Day between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. by calling (617) 376-2522 (Quincy) or (781) 789-5527 (Hanover).
  • Alltown Fresh (28 Harvard Rd., Ayer; 800 South St., Waltham; 22 Long Pond Rd., Plymouth): The market is serving a takeout package for four to six ($140) or eight to 10 ($260) that includes roasted turkey breast; caramelized Brussels sprouts with chorizo vinaigrette; mushroom stuffing; baked sweet potatoes with bruleed marshmallow fluff; potato au gratin; orange cranberry sauce; and gravy. (A few additional sides can be added on for an additional fee.) Order online by November 21 for pickup on November 25.
  • Artu (6 Prince St., Boston): The restaurant is offering prepared dinners that serve eight to 10 people for $185, including a 12-14-pound turkey, gravy, butternut squash soup, mashed potatoes, maple Brussels sprouts, carrots, stuffing, cranberry sauce, rolls, and apple pie, with various optional add-ons (meatballs, salads, and such). Order online for pickup on November 25 between 4 and 9 p.m.
  • Bakers’ Best Catering (150 Gould St., Needham): The local catering company has a large a la carte selection available for pickup and delivery, including roasted turkey breast for anywhere from two to 18 people; starters such as butternut squash bisque and brie en croute; sides such as bourbon-glazed sweet potatoes and cranberries in wine; salads; and pies and other desserts. Order online by November 18 for pickup or delivery on November 24 or 25.
  • Bar Mezzana (360 Harrison Ave., Boston): Priced at $45 per person for groups of two, four, or six, the Bar Mezzana takeout package includes roasted turkey breast and confit turkey leg; gravy; cranberry sauce; sides such as mashed potatoes, glazed yams, green bean casserole, and more; and bread and mayo for leftover turkey sandwiches. Sides, breads, and several types of pies are also available for purchase a la carte.   • The Beehive (541 Tremont St., Boston): Feed four for $275 with the Beehive’s takeout heat-and-eat meal, which includes pumpkin bisque; chopped autumn salad; white bean and sesame dip with chips; a choice of entree (either roasted turkey with gravy, roasted beef brisket with jus, or baked lemon and dijon salmon); mushroom stuffing; mashed potatoes; Brussels sprouts; cranberry sauce; and chocolate chip cookies.   • Blue Ribbon Barbecue (908 Massachusetts Ave., Arlington; 342 Washington St., Dedham; 45 Kenneth St., Newton Highlands): The local barbecue mini-chain has a variety of packages and a la carte options available for Thanksgiving, all served cold but fully prepared (with reheating instructions included). There’s the “groaning table turkey feast” for six to eight people, for example, for $154, which includes boneless smoked turkey breast, gravy, cranberry chutney, a choice of three sides, a pie, and a dozen rolls with butter. (There are also non-turkey packages — one with smoked pork loin and one with the pork and smoked beef brisket — as well as a la carte meats, sides [such as creamed corn and mashed butternut squash], and pies [such as key lime and pecan]).   • Boston Harbor Hotel (70 Rowes Wharf, Boston): The hotel is offering a Thanksgiving takeout meal for six to eight people that features an 18-pound turkey and includes starters, sides, and pies ($365); optional wine pairings are available. Order online, email catering@bhh.com, or call (617) 856-7795 by noon on November 23 for pickup between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on November 26.
  • Branch Line and Shy Bird (Branch Line, 321 Arsenal St., Watertown; Shy Bird, 390 Third St., Cambridge): An a la carte menu is available for pickup from the sibling restaurants, with options including spatchcock turkey, rotisserie chicken, rotisserie Rohan duck, and braised brisket mains; starters and sides such as shrimp cocktail, maple roasted delicata squash, and macaroni and cheese; and pumpkin pie and Dutch apple pie for dessert. Order online through November 20 for pickup on November 25 or 26.
  • The Catered Affair (70 Ledgewood Pl., Rockland): The dinner for two ($160) includes five pounds of boneless, skin-on, herb-roasted turkey breast with gravy, cranberry sauce, stuffing, and other sides, as well as rolls, desserts, and a bottle of wine. $10 of each order goes toward the Weymouth Food Pantry. Order online by November 20 for pickup or delivery on November 25, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Chef Mike’s Cucina (73 Highland Ave., Needham): Choose from a list of a la carte options — including whole turkey and turkey breast, beef Wellington, lasagna, stuffing, mashed potatoes, and lots more — to put together a package suitable for various group sizes.   • Craigie on Main (853 Main St., Cambridge): Craigie is offering hot meals for four (no reheating necessary) for takeout between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. on November 26. For $285, the package contains roasted turkey breast and smoked leg confit; cornbread and sausage stuffing; duck fat-roasted Brussels sprouts; vadouvan and maple mashed sweet potatoes; kale and apple salad; cranberry and walnut relish; bourbon gravy; Iggy’s rolls; and apple and date cake with whipped cream. (There’s also a vegetarian dinner for two, $140, available, featuring mushroom and wild rice mujadara-stuffed squash; za’atar-roasted Brussels sprouts; and the aforementioned salad, relish, gravy, rolls, and cake.)   • Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse (888 Boylston St., Back Bay, Boston; 250 Northern Ave., Seaport District, Boston): The take-home family meal feeds two to four people ($175 and up) or four to six people ($250 and up) and includes butternut squash soup, salad, roasted turkey breast with gravy, two potato dishes, stuffing, green beans, cranberry relish, and two desserts.   • Five Horses Tavern (400 Highland Ave., Somerville; 535 Columbus Ave., Boston): Both locations will be open on Thanksgiving, with takeout available, from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. (kitchen closes at 10 p.m.). In addition to the full regular menu, there will be Thanksgiving specials, include a turkey dinner with cornbread stuffing. Order online.
  • Four Seasons Hotel (1 Dalton St., Boston): The hotel is offering a takeout turkey dinner for four to six ($500) that includes roasted turkey (carved upon request); gravy; cranberry-orange compote; bread; whipped potatoes; maple-roasted sweet potatoes with pecans; sage and roasted garlic stuffing; green bean and mushroom casserole; roasted Brussels sprouts with braised pork belly; and a selection of pies.   • Fresh City Kitchen (31 Germania St., Jamaica Plain, Boston): Fresh City Kitchen is offering heat-and-eat turkey dinners geared at groups of two ($40), five ($95), 10 ($180), and 15 ($250), including roast turkey, mashed potatoes, cornbread stuffing, roasted root vegetables, gravy, and cranberry relish, with additional sides (such as brown sugar sweet potato casserole) and desserts (such as apple crisp) available a la carte.   • Grill 23 & Bar (161 Berkeley St., Boston): Grill 23’s Thanksgiving takeout options include a turkey dinner with sides and dessert ($110 for two people, $220 for four people) or a chateaubriand roast dinner ($130 for two people, $260 for four people). Each includes a kale, spinach, and radicchio salad; roasted carrot and coconut soup; sausage stuffing; mashed potatoes; roasted butternut squash; Brussels sprouts; cranberry sauce; and rolls with butter.   • Il Casale and the Wellington (Il Casale, 1727 Massachusetts Ave., Lexington; the Wellington, 75 Leonard St., Belmont): Available for pickup at il Casale (Lexington location) or the Wellington, there’s a takeout turkey dinner for six to eight for $299, including a 16-to-18-pound brined and roasted turkey, mashed potatoes, brown sugar roasted butternut squash, stuffing, broccoli and cheese casserole, orange cranberry sauce, gravy, and cassava dinner rolls.   • Island Creek Oyster Bar Burlington and Row 34 (Island Creek Oyster Bar, 300 District Ave., Burlington; Row 34, 383 Congress St., Boston): The sibling spots are offering a full meal as well as a la carte starters, sides, and pies. The meal feeds four for $150 and includes sliced roasted turkey, cornbread or oyster stuffing, roasted Brussels sprouts, mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry jam, candied yams, rolls, and pumpkin or apple pie.   • KO Catering & Pies (256 Marginal St., East Boston): The Australian meat pie joint is serving a Thanksgiving meal meant to feed four to eight people, “depending on how hard you’re going,” for $125, featuring a 12-inch pie stuffed with braised turkey and mirepoix with a cranberry sauce base and crusty potato baked topping. The meal also includes sausage roll stuffing, green beans and sweet potato “not as you know them,” bacon fat cornbread, gravy, and sticky pumpkin pudding with maple butterscotch sauce.   • Mamaleh’s (1 Kendall Sq., Cambridge): Mamaleh’s a la carte Thanksgiving options — available for takeout or delivery on November 24 and 25 — include confit turkey by the pound (with gravy); braised brisket by the pound; sides such as challah stuffing and roasted cranberry sauce; and lots of desserts, including pies (whole or by the slice), rugelach, chocolate layer cake, and more.   • McCormick & Schmick’s (1 Faneuil Hall Marketplace, Boston): Serve four to six people for $175 with this meal, which includes roasted turkey, cornbread stuffing, mashed potatoes with gravy, seasonal vegetables, apple squash casserole, cranberry sauce, and butternut squash bisque or walnut mixed greens.   • Miel Brasserie (510 Atlantic Ave., Boston): The Intercontinental’s French restaurant is serving a takeout Thanksgiving menu that serves eight to 10 for $425 (save $40 for ordering before November 10.) It includes pecan roasted butternut squash soup; roasted sweet potato salad; brined herb maple glazed turkey breast with gravy; Brussels sprouts; buttermilk cranberry cornbread stuffing; cheddar rosemary whipped potatoes; French rolls with honey butter; and pumpkin pie.   • Morton’s the Steakhouse (2 Seaport Ln., Boston): The steakhouse is offering a takeout turkey dinner for four for $192.50 including roasted turkey roulade with sage and cranberry stuffing; smoked gouda au gratin; bacon and onion macaroni and cheese; Brussels sprouts; winter salad; cranberry relish; gravy; egg and onion bread; and pumpkin cheesecake. Preorder online for pickup on the morning of November 26.
  • The Oceanaire Seafood Room (40 Court St., Boston): The restaurant is serving four takeout dinners geared at groups of four, including a roasted turkey dinner ($165) with a stuffed turkey roulade; sage and dried cranberry stuffing; mashed potatoes; cranberry chutney; gravy; green beans almondine; creamed corn; roasted and mashed sweet potatoes; and pumpkin swirl cheesecake.   • Revival Cafe & Kitchen (103 Newbury St., Boston; 197 Elm St., Somerville; 125 Cambridgepark Dr., Cambridge): A Thanksgiving meal will be available for pickup at each Revival location, including ancho-rubbed, roasted turkey breast; sweet potato bread stuffing; gravy; whipped potatoes; roasted Brussels sprouts with parsnips and carrots; cranberry sauce with ginger and orange; sweet potato rolls with honey butter; apple cider; and iced coffee. $225 for six to eight people; $400 for 12 to 16 people.   • Rising Eagle Publick House (505 Main St., Melrose): Rising Eagle is serving an a la carte selection of takeout items, all geared at serving four to six people. Everything is fully cooked and arrives cold and ready to reheat. There’s carved turkey breast, mashed potatoes, stuffing, green beans, cornbread, pies, and more, as well as a few wines by the bottle.   • Rochambeau (900 Boylston St., Boston): Rochambeau’s Thanksgiving takeout menu is a la carte and includes options such as a brined and roasted turkey, charcuterie and cheese board, baguettes, vegetables, pies, and more. Order online by 6 p.m. on November 20 for pickup November 23 through 26.
  • Smith & Wollensky (294 Congress St., Boston; 583 Washington St., Wellesley): Both local outposts of Smith & Wollensky are offering takeout Thanksgiving dinners with boneless herb-seasoned turkey breast, sausage and cornbread stuffing, potatoes au gratin, bacon and shallot roasted Brussels sprouts, duck fat roasted root vegetables, cranberry relish, giblet gravy, apple tart, and pecan pie, all ready to heat and serve. It’s $295 and meant to serve four to six people, with leftovers. Bottles of wine available as add-ons. Order online by November 14 to pick up on November 25.
  • The Smoke Shop (1 Kendall Sq., Cambridge; 343 Congress St., Boston; 325 Assembly Row, Somerville; 8 Holyoke St., Cambridge): Now with four locations, this local barbecue mini-chain is offering a turkey dinner ($50 for two people, $100 for four) with turkey breast and thigh, pork loin ham, cranberry sauce, gravy, Texas toast stuffing, green bean casserole, mashed sweet potatoes, butter cake, and bourbon pecan pie. (A la carte main courses and sides are also available, including whole smoked turkeys up to 22 pounds, pork loin ham, and whole smoked briskets, as well as butter cake and pecan pie.)   • Sonsie (327 Newbury St., Boston): Serving eight people for $230, the Sonsie takeout package includes cider brined roasted turkey, Caesar salad, gravy, stuffing, a variety of other sides, and pumpkin pie. Order online or call (617) 351-2500 through November 23 for pickup on November 26 between 11:30 a.m. and 7 p.m.
  • Summer Shack (149 Alewife Brook Pkwy., Cambridge; 50 Dalton St., Boston): Summer Shack’s takeout Thanksgiving options include baked or Cajun deep-fried turkey; sides such as mashed potatoes, butternut squash and cornbread stuffing; and gravy; and pies. Order a la carte or get turkey and sides for eight for $135 (pies are additional.) Pickup is available between noon and 6 p.m. on November 25.   • Trina’s Starlite Lounge (3 Beacon St., Somerville): Trina’s has several dinner bundles available — a half turkey and choice of three sides for two people ($125), full turkey and choice of four sides for four people ($250), or full turkey and choice of five sides for six people ($500). Sides (cornbread, mac and cheese, bourbon Brussels sprouts, biscuits, and more) are also available a la carte, as are pies and large-format cocktails.   • Urban Hearth (2263 Massachusetts Ave., Cambridge): The restaurant is serving a full turkey dinner for two ($150) or four ($275) people, with leftovers, fully cooked and packed cold for reheating at home (instructions included). It includes sage and cider-brined roasted turkey breast and confit leg; fennel, apple, and challah stuffing; rosemary peppercorn gravy; mulled wine cranberry conserve; colcannon; za’atar roasted root vegetables with chermoula relish; shredded Brussels sprout and radicchio salad; and buttermilk biscuits with maple butter. Make a $30 donation here to support Community Servings providing a week’s worth of meals for one of its clients; receive an apple or pecan pie, while supplies last.
