This 2019 Volkswagen Golf R is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four mated to a seven-speed DSG transaxle and 4Motion all-wheel drive, and it is one of a reported six Golf R Spektrum models finished in Irish Green over Titan Black leather for the US market. Equipment includes Dynamic Chassis Control, black-finished 19″ Pretoria wheels, selectable driving modes, adaptive LED headlights, adaptive cruise control, heated front sport seats, and Fender Premium Audio linked to an 8″ touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, VW AppConnect, satellite radio, and Bluetooth connectivity. Initially delivered to White Plains Volkswagen in New York, the car was first registered in Connecticut and was acquired by the selling dealer in June 2023. This Mk7.5 Golf R has 3,100 miles and is now offered in New York with a window sticker, manufacturer’s literature, a Spektrum color-binder, a handwritten Volkswagen of America letter, an accident-free Carfax report, and a clean Connecticut title.
The body is finished in Volkswagen Spektrum Irish Green (LB6B), and the Golf R is differentiated from the standard Golf by revised bodywork including the hatch spoiler, rear diffuser, front fascia with larger air intakes, and side skirts. Additional exterior details include a rear window wiper, adaptive cornering LED headlights, LED taillights, front and rear parking sensors, heated mirrors with integrated turn signals, and rain-sensing windshield wipers.
Black-finished 19″ Pretoria wheels are mounted with 235/35 Continental ContiSportContact tires with production date codes from 2019. The four-wheel independent sport suspension features adaptive Dynamic Chassis Control dampers. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel ventilated disc brakes with black-finished R-branded front calipers.
The cabin features seating surfaces upholstered in Titan Black leather with contrasting piping, and embroidered R emblems accent the backrests of the heated Top Sport front bucket seats. Appointments include a power-adjustable driver’s seat, dual-zone automatic climate control, keyless entry, ambient lighting, “Carbon Touch” dashboard and door panel trim, selectable driving modes, and Fender Premium Audio linked to an 8″ infotainment system with navigation, VW AppConnect smartphone integration, satellite radio, and Bluetooth connectivity. Driver-assistance systems comprise active blind-spot monitoring, lane-keeping assist, and adaptive cruise control with forward collision warning and autonomous emergency braking.
The leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel is equipped with paddle shifters and fronts a Volkswagen Digital Cockpit instrument display, which contains a configurable central menu, a 200-mph speedometer with an inset coolant temperature gauge, and a tachometer with an inset fuel level gauge. The digital odometer indicates 3,100 miles, approximately 50 of which have been added by the selling dealer.
The turbocharged 2.0-liter EA888 inline-four features direct fuel injection, dual overhead camshafts, and an IHI IS38 turbocharger. Factory-rated output was 288 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque.
Power is sent to all four wheels through a seven-speed DSG transaxle and a 4Motion all-wheel-drive system. The car is equipped with the XDS+ Cross Differential System.
The included window sticker displays initial delivery to White Plains Volkswagen in New York, and it lists factory colors and equipment along with a total MSRP of $45,125. Manufacturer’s literature, a Spektrum color-chip booklet, and a first aid kit are also included in the sale. The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists registration history in New York and Connecticut. A November 2022 entry lists an open manufacturer’s safety recall pertaining to the tire pressure monitoring system.
