At C4One we have four pillars that inform our strategy and community outreach programming. These pillars are what guide everything we do, so we want to take the time to explain each one’s importance to you. This month we’re focusing on the Pillar of Intercede, or intercession.

What Does It Mean To Intercede?

We believe that God uniquely positions each of us in leadership throughout our communities.

Intercession looks like praying for and with fellow leaders. This could be praying about how to share our faith effectively in the marketplace, lead more compassionately, achieve business success, or address challenges.

Intercession simply means to take your prayers to God on someone’s behalf as we pray for them. It’s something many of us are already comfortable doing when we bring those we love before God in prayer.

1 Timothy 2:1-4 (NIV)

I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession, and thanksgiving be made for all people – for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.

The Value Of Intercessory Prayer

Making time to pray for others in our community and the marketplace, especially leaders, is so important. You can experience the unique blessing of seeing your prayers being answered, as well as helping uplift those in our community through prayer.

Prayer Suggestions

If you aren’t sure where to being interceding in prayer for those in our community, here are a few suggestions to get started:

  • Pray for specific local leaders in your city and county to have wisdom
  • Pray for local business leaders to be bold in sharing God’s Word
  • Pray for local leaders in our communities to not grow weary of doing good
  • Pray for unity and love in your community
  • Pray for local leaders to have renewed trust in God and for encouragement
  • Pray for godly friendships and connections to develop among local leadership
