Broad governance experience, including: CEO/executive oversight/compensation, corporate strategy, capital allocation, equity issuances, takeover bids, Board/Director effectiveness, Director search/nomination, Board/Committee mandates and policies, company risk assessment, dissident shareholder actions and fiduciary duty issues. Deep functional expertise in mergers, acquisitions & divestitures, corporate finance, business valuation, accounting/auditing and business strategy.
Was EVP & CFO of Maple Leaf Foods Inc. (TSX-MFI) 1995 - 2005 and EVP & CDO 2005 - 2006; was also the Senior Financial Advisor to the G. Wallace F. McCain Family over this period.
Prior to joining Maple Leaf Foods, was VP, Director and a member of the Executive Committee of RBC Dominion Securities Inc., (Canada’s largest investment bank) and Co-Head of the firm’s Investment Banking Group. Previously, was Co-Head of the firm’s M&A Group.
