Description
Picture of Tranquillity Elementary School, located near the intersection of First and C streets, Tranquillity, Calif. Western Stick architectural style. The building was constructed in 1912 to replace an earlier schoolhouse that had been destroyed by fire the previous year. It was in turn replaced by a new campus complex during the late 1920s. The Tranquillity District was created in 1910 and was later merged with the Golden Plains School District.
