Daniel Levy called Jurgen Klinsmann about Tottenham’s open manager position

BUT — Jurgen hasn’t heard from Daniel in a while. Whew.

Tottenham Hotspur’s manager search continues, and we still don’t know really anything about where Spurs are at in their search after everything fell apart with Antonio Conte and Mauricio Pochettino last week. But here’s something we DO know — Daniel Levy called Jurgen Klinsmann and they talked about the open position.

Did you read that and get scared? I’m sorry! I didn’t mean it to be scary, though it certainly sounds that way. The truth, if you listen to the entire clip below, is that while Daniel Levy did call Jurgen, it sure sounds like it was a while ago, Levy really put Klinsmann off on the manager issue, and that Jurgen hasn’t heard from Spurs since that phone call.

“I had a great phone call with Daniel Levy and he said ‘Let’s see down the road what all happens’ and that he has to clarify a lot of things. But since then I’ve had no contact anymore with Spurs.

“Now is this something that would be of interest, any type of manager [job]? Absolutely. Tottenham is Tottenham, you would always listen to their situation. And for me, obviously, Tottenham is a lot more.”

That doesn’t really sound like he’s a realistic candidate, does it? Yeah, I didn’t think so either. Klinsmann is COYS through and through and rightfully a club legend, but I also don’t think he’s an especially good manager, so if we get to the point where Levy’s calling Jurgen back about something other than a Tottenham Legends match at the new stadium, then we’re in REAL trouble.

Postin’ through it, y’all.
