Chad launches free E-learning platform to accompany students affected by Coronavirus

Chad is taking an important step towards e-learning to adapt educational continuity to the health crisis linked to the Covid-19 pandemic. Two distance education projects now benefit from the support of mobile operators, which should benefit several thousand students.

On April 14, the “EDUTCHAD” platform was officially launched, while on April 30, the National School of Administration (ENA) launched its online learning platform to allow its students to continue their distance education.

The network operator Tigo has decided to make free access to these two e-learning platforms, in order to support the school environment and support quality education.

Platforms in line with the national program

Launched by the Ministry of National Education and Civic Promotion, the Ministry of Posts, New Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), as well as the Information Technology and Development Agency communication (ADETIC), the EDUTCHAD platform complies with the national program.

The EDUTCHAD platform, which intends to save the year 2019-2020, offers courses from elementary to secondary school (classes from CM2 to Terminale), a toolbox and resources, or a virtual library

A determining partnership

With this decisive support, Tigo is positioning itself as a partner in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic in schools.

Concretely, when a student intends to connect to the EDUTCHAD platform with the aim of continuing their online lessons, they will be able to access it for free.

Regarding the ENA platform dedicated to 132 students, Tigo has graciously committed to equipping all the tablets offered – by the French Embassy in Chad – with a Sim card allowing remote access free of charge to ENA websites, the online platform and the Cairn and Dalloz digital resources.

“It is in misfortune that we recognize true friends”, reacted last Thursday the Minister Secretary General of the Government, also president of the board of directors of the ENA, Ms. Mariam Mahamat Nour, during the launch of the ENA e-learning platform.
