About This Post

What Makes this Post Unique
Bruceton Post 180 has been largely inactive for the past several years. In March of 2015 at the election meeting for the Post, the members present expressed an interest in returning our Post to a position of value and vitality to our members, area veterans and our community. Our newly elected officers have begun to identify our needs and take appropriate steps to attain this goal. In order to increase and ease communication our Post has added a central Post Office Box as well as an Email address. It is hoped that this site will further our presence in the Legion community. Due, at least in part, to the past inactivity of the Post we are now "homeless". One of the new officers' priorities is to locate and secure a stable meeting place for our meetings. Rather than the haphazard meeting schedule of the past, our newly elected officers have set the second Monday of every month as our regular meeting day. Next on our agenda is identifying and contacting potential new members. Attracting enthusiastic new members who share the goals of our Post in particular and the American Legion in general will strengthen our foundation and allow Bruceton Post 180 to regain it's vitality and be recognized as an asset to the area. To other more successful Posts these goals may seem to be just "business as usual". To Bruceton Post 180 they are imperative to sustain our viability. To continue serving our veterans and their families Post 180 is represented in the Veterans Honor Guard of Parkers Crossroads. The Veterans Honor Guard has been certified by the Tennessee Army National Guard and the Department of Defense to present Final Military Honors for deceased veterans and their families.
