Ronald DeNard

As Chief Financial Officer, Ronald leads the Finance and IT Departments and directs financial planning and analysis, prepares financial statements, and leads the annual budgeting and forecasting process.

Ronald is an established financial professional with expertise in Accounting, Grant Management, Debt Management, Cash Management, Information Technology, Risk Management, Business Diversity and Payroll. His experience expands across many industries in both the private and public sectors such as Exelon Corporation, Loreal, and the Chicago Transit Authority to name a few.

Prior to joining United Way of Metro Chicago, Ronald was the Senior Vice President of Finance for the Chicago Board of Education, the nation’s third largest school system, serving over 360,000 kids. He was able to improve the district’s finances and balance their $7 billion budget within 3 years, in addition to receiving six rating agency upgrades.

Ronald received a BS in Accounting from Florida A&M University and an MBA-Finance from the University of Chicago.

In his spare time, Ronald is a foodie who enjoys dining at a wide variety of restaurants across Chicago. He also enjoys taking in a movie or “secretly” catching a reality TV show. He also enjoys spending time with his college-age and adult children.
